Vortex Founder’s Retreat in Costa Rica
April 10-14, 2017 – Despite being greeted by a large tarantula spider in my room the first night, my stay in Costa Rica was divine. I was there as part of the Vortex Founders Retreat at the beautiful Finca Mia Retreat Centre high in the mountains of Chirripo National Park. The Centre is surrounded by the 14,000-foot Chirripo Mountain, the highest point in Central America.
I arrived in San Jose on April 10th, and took the four-hour journey to Finca Mia with many of the other participants. There was instant chemistry with my other transformational specialists who came from around the world. Vortex Creator Chris Traub, whom I met about seven years ago at a World Economic Forum event, hand-selected a group of us to to help co-create his vision for a specialized transformational retreat for high performers. Some of the participants included Sydney-based Dr. Shalika Shetty, Chamonix-based Jennie Harland-Khan, Costa Rica and Toronto-based Lindsay Sukornyk, Costa Rica-based Juan Pablo Barahona, California-based Elana Meta Jaroff, California and Bali-based Regan Anne-Hillyer, Costa Rica-based A.J. Maxwell, Costa Rica-based Dr. Tera Maxwell, California-based Nestor Perez, among others.
Each of us offered a sampling of our gifts and expertise. I taught a morning “activation session” — a mix of motivation, yoga-based movement and meditation. It was such a treat to share my love of teaching, and I was certainly with kindred spirits. I’m looking forward to collaborating in creating one-of-a-kind experiences with my fellow Vortex Co-Founders. Stay tuned!
