National Institutes of Health
May 23, 2008 – I was quite honored to present “Yoga as a Corporate Stress Management Tool” to employees at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, D.C. It was part of the inaugural “Yoga Week” with the aim to expose the NIH team to more integrative practices. As always, I shared the latest research and taught practical techniques of breath, movement and meditation. I love to get people on their feet and give real tools to use every day. As Chair of the Board of Yoga Alliance (YA), my aim has also been to forge relationships between traditional medical organizations and YA, and increase the amount of respected research on yoga and meditation. As they say in the business world, “if you can’t measure it, then it doesn’t exist.” I don’t actually believe that on an energetic level, but I do value data.
