The James Hotel
October 3 – 4, 2017 – I’m always happy to moderate a Conversation with a Master with 99-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch. This time we were at The James Hotel NoMad in New York. As a boutique hotel, James Hotels in New York and Chicago are making healthy living is a big part of the brand offering yoga mats and a meditation cushion in every room along with other wellness programming.
On Tuesday night, Tao shared her wisdom in our popular Conversation with a Master talk. It was held in the lounge to the right of the lobby which created an intimate fireside chat setting. My mom, Janie Sykes-Kennedy, was there and shared insights on the writing process of Tao’s award-winning autobiography, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master. My sister, Sheila Kennedy Bryant, was also there. We all got to stay at the hotel overnight which was a treat.
On Wednesday morning, Tao taught a yoga class in Madison Square Park which is right near the hotel. Regina Lee assisted along with myself. It was a wonderful group of yogis and Tao enjoyed the outside park venue. There were a number of yoga teacher friends there including Molly Heron, Sharon Lopez and Ghylian Bell. Thank you to The James Hotel and Storey teams for being great hosts! Check out the pictures below.
